Caravaggio the 16th Century BADASS

Caravaggio was a very well paid, rebellious artist who painted many controversial pieces, and was commissioned by the Catholic church to paint subjects such as profane love, and lots of half naked boys (sounds like foreshadowing to me!)  All in all he would be the closest thing to modern day artists today.

Caravaggio painted this when he was a young boy...



















He was also notorious for self portraits, this is one of him as Medusa






















And another of him, slaying the giant David:
